Author B.L. Brown- Tell h-connect readers a little about MaCray Huff. Where are you from? What’s your passion?
MaCray Huff-I’m from a small town in Virginia called Critz. It’s veryyyyyy small; we had one traffic light for yearssss……! My passion is doing hair! I love the whole making someone feel better about themselves, and I love transforming someone!
Author B.L. Brown- If you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be?
MaCray Huff-Describing myself in one word would be COMPLEX! I am very “sometimey” lol; I change my mind a lot! So I never know what to expect out of myself!
Author B.L. Brown-What is your idea of a great first date? Describe the worst date you’ve ever been on. What is the best date you have ever been on?
MaCray Huff- A great first date for me would be going to eat and just talking to get to know someone. The worse date was with a guy that really thought he was a girl and kept rubbing on me in this theatre full of people! He was mad that I didn’t open his car door and all that. I was just OVER IT!
Author B.L. Brown-What does MaCray Huff look for in a man? How important is it for your partner to be financial stable?
MaCray Huff-I look for honesty in a guy. I personally feel that with being gay that most gay guys have to lie their whole life, and they just get use to this lie. It ends up in their relationship as well! I would prefer someone that at least had some kind of job! Cause I’m going to be eating! I’d hate for him to just be watching! Lol
Author B.L. Brown-You were quickly deemed by viewers as the break out star of the “The Style Network” Show-Chicagolicious. How has this positively changed your life?
MaCray Huff-Chicagolicious has made it known who I am and showed viewers what I can do with hair and sort of how I am as a person. I’m grateful.
Author B.L. Brown- Are you and Wesley still dating, or are you single and looking for love? Did Wes relocate and join you in Chicago?
MaCray Huff-I’m no longer with Wes. I’m single now, but I’m really just focusing on me seeing where I can take my life and dreams!
Author B.L. Brown- How difficult is it to maintain a long distance relationship?
MaCray Huff-I hate long distance relationships! I need to see my boo every day!
Author B.L. Brown-Did coming out to your parents free you in a sense? What was your father reaction?
MaCray Huff-Coming out to my mom has improved our already tight relationship! I just feel so much better as a person that I don’t have to lie about all that anymore! My mom told my father. We have not had a discussion about it. He knows, and I’m fine with that. I most definitely feel free!
Author B.L. Brown-What advice can you give to young men who are struggling with their identity, and afraid to come out to their family and friends for fear of rejection (ridicule by peers)?
MaCray Huff-My advice would be…do what’s best for you!!!! It took me a long time to come out and actually said I was gay to my parents and old friends. That’s what I felt I had to do, and everyone’s situation is different. Make your own decision!
Author B.L. Brown- You have a keen sense of fashionable insight. Have you always been into fashion? What would you wear on a first date?
MaCray Huff-I’ve always been into fashion! I get it from my mama lol. She owned a little alteration shop and use to make clothes for me and my sister! She made me hammer pants back in the day and bought me my first sewing machine! On a first date, I’d just wear some jeans maybe boots and a button up with a blazer or jean jacket, or on a first date I’d say look your best, but don’t overdo it!
Author B.L. Brown-- MaCray, you‘re fun, energetic, a positive breath of fresh air, and one hell of creative hair stylist. What first date hair styles can you offer from your collection of hair styles?
Author B.L. Brown- Do you want to get married and start a family someday?
MaCray Huff -I don’t think I will ever get married. I think about it sometimes, but I’m just not into all that.
Author B.L. Brown- What’s been your biggest challenge in a relationship?
MaCray Huff -My biggest challenge in a relationship is finding someone that deal with allllll of me lol. I want my dreams to come true. Everybody can’t handle that, and everybody is not happy for you.
Author B.L. Brown- What is the biggest misconception about you?
MaCray Huff -The misconception about me is that I’m just so nice! I’m very humble and thankful for where I am, but some people try to take that to another level and cross boundaries!
Author B.L. Brown – Will you be appearing on season 2 of Chicagolicious, and if so, what can we look forward to from MaCray Huff?
MaCray Huff -As far as I know, there will be no more chicagolicious. The network does not exist, and I never got an official word from anyone about the show. So I really can’t say!
Author B.L. Brown-Is there anything else you’d like to share? (about yourself, company, products, services, up and comings business ventures, etc.,).
